Christmas songs

For a long time, there have been three popular Christmas songs, one is “Christmas Eve”; One is “listen, angel.

Good news “; The third one is jingle bells

  • Origin of Christmas tree

The Christmas tree is an indispensable decoration for Christmas. Christmas trees first appeared in Germany.

Germans celebrate Christmas by moving evergreen trees such as pine and ivy into their homes. The evergreen trees represent the eternal life that Jesus gave people.

Now people use small neon lights. At the top of the Christmas tree must be hung a star, this star is called “Bethlehem star”, symbolizing the star that led the doctor to see the baby Jesus.

  • Origin of Santa Claus

The origin of Santa Claus was a very loving Christian named Nicholas, later known as st. Nicholas.

He was born in 280 AD into a wealthy family in Asia minor. His parents died when he was a child, leaving him a large fortune. Nikolay loved god so much that he was determined to be a man who would share his love with others. When he grew up he became a preacher and later a bishop. He lived a very loving life, often giving his money to poor people.

Nicholas was a bishop. Many people knew him, but he did not want to be known for his good deeds. So every Christmas he would dress up in old clothes, stick on his beard, put on his hat, and go out into the street as an old man, distributing food, clothes and Christmas gifts to the poor and homeless children.

  • Origin of Christmas candy

Legend has it that the teacher’s candy was invented by a candy merchant who wanted to witness Jesus. Sugar is hard, just as Jesus Christ was the rock of ages. The “J” shape of the body represents the first letter of Jesus or the shepherd’s staff; White represents the purity of Jesus; The red stripes represent Christ’s blood shed for our SINS, and the other three smaller red stripes are his stripes for us. Some of the candy has green stripes, which means Jesus is a gift from the god. The sugar was made of mint because mint was hyssop (when Jesus was crucified, the soldiers dipped sea moss in sour wine and bound it to hyssop and brought it to his lips), and hyssop represented purity and sacrifice. Jesus was a pure lamb who came to sacrifice for the SINS of the world.

  • Christmas dinner

Just like Chinese people eat New Year’s dinner during the Spring Festival, people will pay much attention to the whole family sitting under the Christmas tree to enjoy a good holiday meal.

The custom of eating Turkey for Christmas dinner began in 1620. This custom prevails in America. The British Christmas dinner is roast goose, not Turkey. On Christmas Eve, the whole family goes to a restaurant to have a Christmas dinner meal, among them, Turkey, preserved chicken, roast cowboy meat and pig leg is indispensable, accompany with famous wine at the same time, eat everybody happily.

Finally, enjoy the happy hours with families, and don’t forget to hang up the sock!

    Happy Christmas Eve~!
