Under lighting (for interior scenes), the color temperature of the light is required to be around 5000K, and the color rendering index is above 90. Under sunlight (for exterior scenes), it is required to be above 5000K and above 80.

HMI lights, also known as solar lights, high-frequency cold light lights, electronic dysprosium lights, dysprosium lights, and spotlights in China, are relatively expensive and consume a lot of energy, which puts them at a certain distance from amateur enthusiasts. Among them, HQI is relatively cheaper and has a wider range of visible applications, but the disadvantage is that it has a certain preheating time. HMI generally has a bulky external rectifier (some also have built-in ones) and its volume varies with increasing power. Their advantage when applied to the studio is that they can provide a white (5500k) high-frequency high-intensity light source, making them an ideal studio light at present.

LED lights will be the ideal universal film and television light source in the future, and a large part of the future studio light source will be replaced by LED lighting. It has the characteristics of small size, low cost, high intensity, low energy consumption, etc., and the LED has a low failure rate and extremely long lifespan, with each LED particle having a lifespan of about tens of thousands of hours. It is equipped with LED display screen to control DMX encoding and lamp body function selection, built-in anti-interference circuit, complete and compact structure, and built-in electronic adjustment of bulb brightness, which can be adjusted at any time.
